Watering system controlled by iPhone

This guy in the video uses his iPhone to control the plant watering system. The plant watering system is able to take directions from the iPhone because when the guy rotates the iPhone, the status is updated to a web server via JavaScript. Thus, when he rotates the Safari screen, he is able to set the watering system up or down. Check out the video.
